In comparison you got a game like Fallout 4 which starts out solid. If I'm picking up a game I'd love to know how long before I can put it down again.Īs an aside if a game doesn't at least have a "save and quit" option why ? I'm not going to build but I'll ask if "how long to beat" could add it as as recordable time when you are submitting a how long to beat (if this isn't just my issue). Obviously sometimes the narrative introduction needs to be long to get the player invested (I seem to remember one of the MGS games having in cut scene checkpoints) and the character creation can be as long as you want to invest in eyebrow sculpting. Lots of games insist on long intro / tutorials that aren't reflective of the in game gameplay loop length. I have installed metal gear solid V but knowing how Kojima games normally go I never have the chance to start it. I have started the Lego hobbit game a few times now without reaching the first save spot. I'm sure every busy patient gamer has had the issue of "do I have time to start this game".
